1906 DWM Commercial


In 1907 DWM made the Commercial '06 American Eagle in the 7.65mm, 9mm, with 120mm and 100mm barrels. They also made some Commercial 7.65mm with 120mm barrels with Crown B.U.G. proofs and some without DWM proofs. They also made some 11 3/4 " (300mm) carbines and Navy 6, (200mm), plus an Navy American Eagle Carbine and some with the new reverse safety.. All within the 40000 to 51999 serial range. Most references state the "06 models were within the serial range of 25,000-69,000. Our only conclusion is that this gun was made in 1908 while the new model was being manufactured. Very rare!




Very clean on the inside as most commercial guns were very well cared for by their owners and this one is no exception. The only mark we find on the gun that is unknown a\are the three strips on the side of the grip strap under the grip which may have established proof of ownership.






Although a 1906 Model this gun was actually manufactured in 1908 as the last of the squeeze grip guns. In 1907 the serial number range was 40000 to 51999 and this number exceeds the known 1908 production records. Additionally the numbers are larger than those found on the earlier commercial gun which was a characteristic of the late model production. Questions email josef@phoenixinvestmentarms.com

This is a very rare variation of the last of the 1906 Model squeeze grip 9mm Luger. If any gun is conceived as the classic Luger this is the one, Beautifully finished with the buffed safety (No Gesichert), no DWM markings, no stock lug just the beautiful lines of this magnificent Parabellum. The serial number places its production in 1908 when military production was beginning; 1907 serial range has been documented at 59000. This is an investment grade Luger of fine quality and a very rare variations and is offered for $3,895.00 over the counter.
