This is a 1934 Model Pistole 08 military gun manufactured by Mauser in 1937. This Parabellum is a 4 inch (100 mm) barrel in 9mmx19mm made on the "short frame" with short sear. This Luger is offered with the entire rig (see above) for a SA High Party Official.  This is a "rig" that was brought back by an foot soldier from WWII.

Serial number placement is in the military (exposed) style. The thumb safety is marked "Gesichert" and extractor "Geladen." This example has all matching numbers including two matching magazines. The barrel is numbered and proofed and matches the frame. Collectors refer to this model as 1934 to represent the year that Mauser created the machinery for their production run of the Luger. So this 1937 dated 1934 Model is an early Mauser variation and excellent example of craftsmanship before wartime production began.

This is a beautiful example of a 1937 fully matching dated Mauser S/42 9mm with two matching magazines, a 1937 dated holster, an E63 proofed tool and a SS Party Leaders Belt with check strap.  Truly a great rig for the advanced collectors. Questions to Josef@phoenixinvestmentarms.com

It is entirely subjective to give any Luger a rating of excellent or fine, just as it is to declare it xx% blued or strawed. Few Lugers are out of the box new and these are premium priced. Bluing percentages is like Beauty, in the eye of the beholder.   We strive to provide pictures so you can judge for yourself if the gun meets your criteria.  This particular rig is stunning in appearance and must have been captured within a non-combat environment.

The holster is in excellent shape with flexible leather and original white stitching. It has the manufactures mark, the Waffenamt proof and the 1937 date. The stitching is all in white indicating it wasn't dyed or "show polished" [which harms the leather] and is all original.

This is a war-time battlefield souvenir that has seen at least three continents and still remains in excellent shape as a testimony to the craftsman that created it and the Deutscher Soldat who cared for his weapon and the good home it found after the war.

The barrel is matched to the gun with the caliber 8.82mm stamped.  There is no serial suffix puts this "1937 date at the very beginning of  the 1937 contract. Serial number placement is in the military ("exposed") style.   The serial number appears on the front of the frame, on the side of the locking bolt, on the trigger, on the bottom of the barrel, the side plate,  the left side of the receiver, the safety bar, the sear bar, the rear connecting pin, and on the extractor. The barrel is gauge marked and serial numbered to the frame; the magazine is matching in addition to the 2nd magazine in the holster is a matching serial number.

Both magazine are numbered the same one is newer blued sleeve and the other is the early silver sleeve.

The extractor [GELADEN - Loaded] rises above the breach block to both visually and by feel (in the dark) that the gun is loaded and ready for action. The right side show the various early Eagle 63 proof characteristic of the Mauser along with the drooped winged Alder (Eagle) of the military acceptance stamp both on the frame and barrel. Beginning in 1939 this stamp was changed to the straight wing Alder with the Swastika giving rise to the Nazi marked guns.

The first toggle link is marked with the S/42 Mauser code, this was one of four logos that Mauser used during the war; S/42, 42, byf and the Banner.   There is the "V" rear sight on the rear toggle link and the last two digits of the serial number appear.

Clean and well cared for both during and after the war this is one of the best 1937 Lugers we have seen.  Matched with a dated holster and Party Leader belt/buckle and chest strap make this a prize to anyone's collection.

This is a seldom seen rig with the Party Leader belt and pebble surface buckle of the high echelons of the SA and Nazi party that was captured with the 1937 minty S/42 Luger and dated holster.   The holster comes with an extra matching magazine & an E63 (matching gun) proofed loading tool.

Questions to josef@www.phoenixinvestentarms.com   (This Luger, as all the others, have already been discounted for a cash sale).  This very rare rig in immaculate condition is offered for $3,995.00 to the discriminating collector.
